ACAAI is the premier national Association of the air cargo agents in India. ACAAI was founded in 1970. Currently, the Association has a pan India strength of about 600 members, consisting of IATA accredited air cargo agents, airlines, GSAs, Bonded Truckers and airport Custodians.

The primary objectives of ACAAI are to promote the growth of the air cargo industry in India, facilitate the ease of doing business, and safeguard the interests of its members. In this context, ACAAI has extensive liaison and interaction in India with several Ministries of the Central Government, Government Departments such as CBIC, CBDT, AERA, BCAS, etc., Regulatory Authorities as well as Committees of Ministries such as Air Cargo Logistics Promotion Board (ACLPB) and Standing Committee on Promotion of Exports by Air (SCOPE Air).

ACAAI also deals extensively with global international aviation organizations such as International Air Transport Association (IATA), and international airlines regarding various issues pertaining to the air cargo industry. ACAAI is affiliated to various international organizations such as International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), Federation of Asia-Pacific Aircargo Associations (FAPAA) and deals regularly with these organizations regarding issues of the airfreight industry in India and globally.

ACAAI is also a member of several large Chambers of Commerce in India, such as Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IMC).
